Tips on Choosing The Right Suit For a Beach Wedding

Wedding Suits

With the warm spring and summer months right around the corner, many couples have begun planning their beach wedding. There's nothing that compares to exchanging nuptials on a sandy-white beach set against an ocean backdrop. As a groom, though, one of the decisions you'll have to make is which suit is right for you. The unique characteristics of a beach wedding require a different approach when choosing your suit.

Choosing a suit can be a daunting task for a soon-to-be groom (to say the least). Suits come in a wide range of colors, styles, sizes, fabrics, and other nuances that affect both its look and performance. Just because a suit looks good in the store doesn't necessarily mean it's the best choice for your big day. So how do you know which one to choose?

One of the first things you should consider when choosing a suit for your beach wedding is the material. It should go without saying that beaches are typically hot during the spring and summer months (and even the fall/winter months in some areas). Therefore, you'll want to choose a suit made of a lightweight, breathable material. Opting for a traditional heavy suit can be downright uncomfortable, which isn't how you should remember this important day. On the other hand, a suit made of a lightweight material will allow you to enjoy your big day just a little more, and with greater comfort.

Linen is an excellent choice of material for beach wedding suits. Made from the fibers of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum), it's valued for its strength and lightweight properties. Linen suits are also thinner than suits made of other materials, meaning you can roll up your sleeves as the day grows warmer. Furthermore, linen is a relatively inexpensive fabric when compared to other materials, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious couples.

You'll find that some linen suits are blended with other materials like wool for a deeper level of style and aesthetics. Blending these two fabrics together offers the same lightweight, breathable properties of linen, but with the unique characteristics of wool.

Something else you should consider when choosing a suit is what the bride will be wearing. Granted, most brides choose to wear white on their wedding day, but there's a growing trend towards the use of more unconventional colors (e.g. red, champagne, navy). You don't have to necessarily wear the same color suit as the bride's dress, but it should flow together in a cohesive manner.

Hopefully, this will give you a better idea on which suit is right for your beach wedding. Just remember to choose the suit that YOU want to wear, because after all it's YOUR wedding!
