Suits aren't limited to a jacket and a pair of matching trousers. They can include a vest as well. Also known as a waist coat, a vest is a sleeveless upper-body garment. It's worn over a dress shirt and under a suit jacket.

Some suits contain a jacket, trousers and a waist coat. If you're going to wear a suit, you may want to add a vest to your outfit. Wearing a vest with a suit offers several benefits, some of which include the following.

#1) New Colors or Patterns

A vest will enhance your suit with new colors or patterns. You can find them in many different colors. Some vests are black, whereas others are white, olive, tangerine or navy. Regardless, there's probably a vest available in a color that will complement your suit.

You can even find vests in patterns. Patterns consist of two or more colors. Pinstripe is a common pattern in which vests are available. A pinstripe pattern will typically feature a primary color and a secondary color. To enhance your suit with new colors or patterns, you should wear a vest.
